The multi-storey, richly decorated spaces remind of their morphological affinity with the early towers and at the same time their building and decorative relationship with the East, without, however, altering the constant division in the interior and exterior of the house and the presence of the Thessalian tradition. Thus, in principle, a tower-like stone base is formed, followed by three main types: the rectangle, the C-shaped one, and the third one in the shape II, the few samples of which have been destroyed or altered by newer additions, except for typical mansions in Portaria, Lafkos and Trikeri.
