Many families not only in Pelion but also in Volos have neoclassical villas. On the other hand, elements unrelated to classicism have passed into the cosmic aesthetics. One such element, well known in the architecture of the Mediterranean countries of North Africa, is the “monumental” porch with elevated trilobal arches with subtle columns and capitals. Usually in these houses with monumental arches we see the same morphological elements that are applied in other houses of the period: axial balconies, with elaborate ironing, large windows, entrance door with rectangular outline, monumental outdoor staircase with large semi-circular stairs, roofs with tiles and painted imitations of marble elements etc.
